Journal Entry # 17
For much of my life, I struggled to fit in—physically, emotionally, and socially. Standing over six feet tall as a young woman often left me feeling out of place and uncertain about my identity. But as I matured spiritually, I came to understand that my height, my personality, and every aspect of who I am were intentionally designed by God. I was never meant to blend in—I was created for a divine purpose, and so were you.
The Lord intricately formed each of us with unique traits, characteristics, and quirks that serve a higher calling. Though society’s standards may make us feel “different” or “less than,” God’s design is flawless. Walking in purpose often means walking apart from the crowd. True confidence begins when we embrace our God-given design and trust that we are exactly who He needs us to be.
King David reminds us in Psalm 139 that God knows us intimately—our thoughts, actions, and even our unspoken words. He crafted us wonderfully and purposefully. Every detail of who we are reflects His perfect workmanship.
Journal Prompt:
Have you ever wished you could change something about your appearance, personality, or character just to fit in? How did you begin to accept those parts of yourself?
Acceptance is a lifelong journey—so even if there are things you still struggle to love, what can you do today to remind yourself that you are exactly who God designed you to be for His purpose?
